February Digest Kickoff
SPEAKER_00Hello and welcome to the February Digest. I'm your host, Stefano Partita, and we're gonna discuss all things that went down in February. For anyone that regularly uses SSH to access their Unraid server, you're gonna hear this part out. Several vulnerabilities have been identified with SSSH specifically, and those have been fixed in Unraid version 7.2.4. So you'll definitely want to upgrade if you are one of those people out there that regularly use SSH. For anyone that's currently on Unraid 7.2.3, if you are experiencing issues with Time Machine, you'll definitely want to upgrade as well to 7.2.4, as the Samba package has been downgraded in 7.2.4 to alleviate some of those issues that people are experiencing with Time Machine. Now information's very sparse on what exactly those issues are, and I'm not able to actually provide you with any further details about those specific issues. But if things are a little wonky, you may want to consider upgrading to 7.2.4. There are also two other fixes with this update that I have no idea who they apply to or quite exactly what they even mean. But however, just so you know, there is an auto-restart fix for the SSH daemon after a network recovery. And there's also a fix for an issue that arose when parsing IP address output when the interface contains peer information. Again, no idea what that really all entails or means or even the effects, but hey, they've been fixed. On February 19th of 2026, the unraid bug and feature tracker went live. This will now allow you to have direct paths to the internal workflow so bugs don't sit idle and features don't get lost in long forum threads. This new portal will allow you to submit bugs or request features and keep track of their status. The new tracker will send bug reports and feature requests directly to the internal teams to shorten the time between reviewing a report and tracking and taking action. There is even community-driven prioritization, which signals to the team which issues are most important to the community through the use of upvotes and downvotes. In the future, you will also be able to submit bugs and feature requests directly from the Unraid OS. The keen eye among you already noticed the roadmap link. Currently, there is no information populated here, but eventually this will be populated and publicly available. Unraid University has been launched on the Uncast Show YouTube channel. Right now, the first course that is available sets out to level up your Docker skills. It's a comprehensive three-part video series that breaks down everything from fundamentals to advanced networking. You can expect to see more videos in the coming future. Speaking of the future in demystifying things, right now out there in the fog is Unraid 7.3 Public Beta. We don't know exactly when this will be readily available for everyone to use, but it is looming. And other things that are looming out there in the future, there will be a brand new partnership. Now I don't know exactly what that entails or who that will be with, but that is something that you can expect to hear about sometime in the near future. If you haven't done so already, please fill out the Unraid customer survey as your feedback is invaluable to the Unraid team. And after you're done, you can save yourself 20% off on some merchandise like this through the Unraid store. Lastly, for the app of the month, we have Sterling PDF.
